As readers know, Ashley is resurrected in "Beyond" (actually, thanks to some nifty and plot-relevant time travel, she never dies in the first place). Writing Kaidan and Ashley as best buds through the years has been an absolute joy, and I hate that Bioware deprived us of that relationship.
This shot originated from my modded "Team Milky Way" playthrough of ME3 (details here: [link] ). Maintaining a Kaidan romance while keeping Ashley alive was a challenge, but through much micro-management I pulled it off
