I wish I could remember for certain! I have played around with the pick first/second a bit, and I know it can impact the in-shuttle cutscenes at the beginning of a mission, and I want to say it feels like the one picked second actually gets more lines on the mission, but I haven't been scientific enough with it to say for certain :/
XDDD I like it when Kaidan gives orders. I was a little wary when they said that he'd be like... higher rank than Shepard AND a Spectre. But I LOVE the new confidant Kaidan <333. I think it's funny that he still takes orders from Shepard too, even though he outranks her in everything but her general badassedry.
I'm just trying to understand it right, if there's a joke, please warn me As far as I know Shepard is the captain of the Normandy and that should be enough, other than that, as far as I know, Commander outranks Major
Yeah I understand that the captain of the ship technically outranks anyone on it, at least while they're on the ship. Majors outrank Commanders, so technically Kaidan shouldn't have even taken the Shepard gig because he wouldn't really be able to use his Major authority. I think it's unstated that Shepard kind of unofficially outranks everyone now, though. Since he/she was pretty much running the war.
