Because for a lot of us, this is what matters above all. I personally believe "Destroy" is the best option regardless, despite the painful loss of EDI and the Geth, but I certainly understand the arguments for the other choices.
But over the course of 5 years, we have become attached to our Shepard, perhaps beyond any other video game character. And the simple fact is, for many of us, we just want our Shepard to live.
I don't know about the other ME players but I never changed the look of my Shepard, I always played with female Shepard and with the same look, the same appearance. As you said, I have been attached to my Shepard and now I miss her and with the few male Shepard walkthroughs, I chose the default appearance but my Shepard is female
Yeah, for male Shepard the default IS Shepard; custom himSheps seem weird. I had several femSheps before I made the one that stole my heart, I can't deviate from her now. I usually import from ME1 without changing the appearance in ME2; but ME3 both (1) so totally messed up the way imported Shepards looked from ME2 and (2) provided new and different appearance options, that I had to remake her for ME3. It's close enough that I still see her as the same person, though; just better!
while importing, I have to make some minor changes as well because as you said, she seems a little bit weird however, for example I have played ME1 about 8 times, all with the same appearance, ME2-13 times all with the same look again and ME3-6 times all with the same look except the male Shepard of course
Nice! I had 5 different Shepards in ME1 and ME2 (maybe 11 ME1 plays, 8 ME2), and because they all had different backstories and personalities, I had to write up little summaries on them so I could keep them straight...which ultimate led to a 72 chapter fanfic, but that's another story . But Graceyn Shepard is the only one who's made it through ME3; I've tried with 2 of the others but they are no longer "Shepard," and I can't get in their head!
Don't worry about what others label it . ME is by far the best game series I've ever played, and I've played some good ones. More than that, it's changed my life (or at least enabled me to make changes in my life); I wouldn't be here on DA, writing, or making art, if ME hadn't inspired me to not just consume, but dive in and engage .
ME is the best game series I've played too. well, Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia are great too (I've played them several times and I love them) but ME is something different. I don't care about what others think, moreover; I'm quite an observant like Joker I like watching others and observing their behaviral pattern and knowing stuff that they think I don't know; the best part is that it happens unintentionally
Your words speak very true. Watching Shepard take a breath at the end of the Destroy ending brought an inexplicable rush of relief, despite that EDI, especially, will be sincerely missed (as I'm sure Joker would certainly miss EDI).
The first time I finished the game (which was about 2 sleepless days after it came out) all the details of the Galactic Readiness numbers and the like weren't yet understood, and though mine was high, it wasn't quite high enough, and I didn't get this scene. Obviously, and mostly for the other reasons dealing with the end, I was devastated. We searched the internet, found the first YouTube video of this, and I was kind of, "well, that's certainly a little better, but I'm not sure it makes that much difference." Nonetheless, I went and played MP for an afternoon to get my number up, went back to my pre-Cronos save, replayed the end again, and successfully got this scene.
And when it was MY Shepard on MY monitor, it made ALL the difference .

none of the other games gives me the same fun to play
